We
are always pleased to hear from members who would like to have a
go at team events. We aim to give all members the opportunity to
be in a team and it does help if you contact us and say what you
are interested in.
Team events
are great fun and a good way to get to know other members, the
club pays the entry fees for team competitions and every member
who represents the club is presented with a ‘team member’
rosette at the AGM at the end of the year.
For most national events you can also enter as an
individual. Where this
is the case, team members are automatically included as
individuals. Where a
member wishes to enter just as an individual, the club will
arrange this although the entry fee for individual competitions
will be paid by the member concerned.
If
you would like to take part in the next team event, or would like
to find out more about teams or other national competitions,
please contact Penny Jann on 01483 414820.
Flu
Certificates
Please
note that for team events your horse requires a valid flu
certificate. This
means that the horse must have had a primary course of two
injections, the second of which must have been given between 21
and 92 days after the first. A
booster injection must be given between 150 and 215 days after the
second injection. The
horse must then be vaccinated annually – the next injection must
be given no more than one year after the last one.
If the horse misses a vaccination deadline by even one day,
the flu certificate will be invalid, even if the horse would still
be covered by the previous injection against flu.
No injection may be given within the 7 days prior to a team
competition. In addition the flu certificate must be fully
completed by a vet and must show the name under which the horse
competes and/or is registered as well as any stable name. or
all national qualifiers, the horse must have a valid passport
showing all flu vaccinations which must accompany the horse to the
qualifier – failure to do so will incur elimination.
If
you are new to teams, then you should photocopy your flu
certificate and send it to Penny for checking.
